Phil’s ‘first love’ outside of his family, is making Documentaries.
Years ago, he decided to learn every component and discipline in the documentary filmmaking process, so with his wife and co-founder, Zoë, they have the whole thing covered.
Multiple awards and films for the likes of National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Disney and ESPN; these days Phil splits his time Directing films and campaigns for key clients of Nomad Group and making guerilla low budget documentaries for Toy Green Films. Founder, Film director, Advisor and Business owner; Phil has built several communities and companies in the creative industry.
His first love, outside of his family, is making documentaries. His second love is building business.
His third love is working with weird, brilliant people with formidable moral fibre. He absolutely loves what he does and has zero interest in ever retiring.
Born in Abu Dhabi, Phil’s fabric has evolved from a life, education and career threaded between the UK and the UAE.
The UAE’s drive, ambition and innovation, and the UK’s passion for quality, creativity and problem solving is at the core of why business is Phil’s ‘second love’ outside of his family.
A serial entrepreneur since he was a child, Phil founded Nomad Group with his wife Zoë in 2009. Since then, it has grown into one of the most respected creative communities in the region; serving some of the most important people, brands and government entities.
From films to advisory; campaigns, brand, drones, digital and production services; the offering continues to grow. With Toy Green Films formed in 2025, the group now has a UK focused entity; telling stories about the maverick mindsets, leaders, profound and the brave.
